Job Opportunity: Part-Time Church Financial Secretary
Location: First Baptist Church, Maiden, NC
Hours: 20-24 hours per week
First Baptist Church, Maiden, NC, is prayerfully seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-
Time Church Secretary to oversee all church office activities. This individual will report
directly to the Pastor and play a vital role in supporting the church’s mission and daily
operations.
Requirements:
Active membership and good standing in an evangelical church
College graduate or minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Skilled in MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must have accounting skills, including bookkeeping, record keeping, and be
proficient with QuickBooks.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Self-starter with excellent multi-tasking abilities
Must always maintain the utmost confidentiality
Responsibilities:
Manage church correspondence, including answering emails, screening/routing phone
calls, distributing mail, and writing letters as needed
Perform routine office tasks such as filing and maintaining an organized reception area
Process weekly payroll and file quarterly payroll reports
Handle weekly bank deposits and maintain accurate records of member tithes and
offerings
Maintain petty cash and process accounts payable under the direction of the
Budget/Finance Committee
Prepare and distribute weekly bulletins, funeral bulletins, and bi-weekly newsletters
Order office supplies and ensure the proper functioning of office equipment
Maintain accurate membership records (e.g., new members, baptisms, weddings, and
deaths) and prepare new member packets
Manage the church calendar, birthday calendar, prayer list, and scheduling of church
use by members
Schedule and prepare staff meetings, Deacons’ meetings, and associated materials,
including reminders and financial reports
